Charger owner, need a shop that actually knows HEMI engines
I have a 2016 Charger R/T with the 5.7 HEMI and it has developed this ticking sound on cold start that goes away after a minute or so. I have read enough forum threads to know this could be anything from an exhaust manifold leak to lifter issues, and I am genuinely nervous about it because if it is the lifters that is a big job. Two shops I called did not even know what I was describing properly, one asked me if it was a V6, which told me everything I needed to know. I am trying to find a trusted Dodge repair workshop in Sharjah where someone has actually worked on these engines before. Has anyone here dealt with the HEMI tick and what did it turn out to be for you? Also curious if these cars need a specific oil weight that some shops get wrong, because I have heard that can cause or worsen the issue. I am not trying to be cheap about it, just want it diagnosed by someone who is not guessing.
