You get the Flickering Threat task from Celeste right when you’re probably looking for some quick progress, and it ends up being a better deal than it first looks. With her main engineer down, she leans on you to sort out the Dam’s failing power system, and if you’ve been gathering ARC Raiders Items along the way, you’ll notice the rewards line up nicely with mid‑game upgrades. The run isn’t complicated, but the area can get noisy fast, so going in with a clear route helps a lot.
Reaching the Generator Room
Head straight for the Dam as soon as the quest starts. It’s a massive landmark, so you won’t mix it up with anything else nearby. Most players go in a bit too relaxed here, but there are usually a few patrol units milling around the lower entrance. They’re not the worst enemies in the game, but if you let them surround you, the fight drags on. Once you’re inside the Generator Room, you’ll spot the broken unit immediately. It’s loud, sparks everywhere, the usual. The repair prompt wants four wires, and you’ll find them scattered around the room. Check the lockers, toolboxes, and even the ground near the back wall—people often miss that one because the lighting drops off there.
Finding the Ventilation Shaft
Fixing the generator isn’t the end, even though the game makes it feel like you’re nearly done. A lot of players wander in circles here. You need to leave through the southeast door of the room, then aim for a tall building west of the elevator. The layout in that section feels a bit maze‑like, and if you drift too far, you’ll pull extra bots you don’t need to deal with. Once you spot the right building, head inside. It’s pretty bare, so don’t expect clues or signs pointing you where to go.
Restoring the Power
The final switch is tucked under the stairs, which is exactly the sort of spot you’d ignore if you’re sprinting through. It’s not hidden, just easy to overlook when you’re expecting something big and obvious. Flick the switch and you’ll hear the power kick back in straight away. That’s the point where the mission finally hands over the rewards.
Celeste gives you the Radio Renegade Helmet, which looks great and holds up well in early fights, but the real win comes from the crafting materials. You get five Medium Gun Parts along with three Advanced Mechanical Components, and anyone trying to upgrade weapons knows how rare those components can be. It’s one of those quests that’s quick if you stay focused, and the payout feels worth the trip, especially if you’re already shopping around for cheap ARC Raiders gear to round out your build.
